Possibility & Purpose

These paintings are my personal experience put to paper. Painting holds all my secrets and offers me direction. Written into each painting is both intention and resolve. I focus on what I work to make happen, in and out of the studio. Solutions and direction for managing life’s challenges come to me as the surfaces of my paintings develop.

Paper is my preferred substrate. It represents the resilience we all need, and I identify with its characteristics. Paper is underappreciated and cast aside without thought, often appearing weak and valueless because it is so common. Reclaiming paper for art offers a higher responsibility to the product, along with the opportunity to exhibit its possibility and strength.
